The wood is smooth and sturdy, no sharp edges or splinters, so I don’t worry about my hens scratching themselves. They took to the swing within a day, and watching them take turns has cut down on the pecking order squabbles noticeably.

Assembly took me about an hour and the screws felt a bit cheap, though the natural wood finish looks nice in the run. It's fine for the price, just don't expect them to actually play
